Michael McCarthy, CFP®, is a Partner and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Premier Planning Group in Toledo, where he specializes in retirement planning, pension maximization, and portfolio management for police officers, firefighters, and first responders. He serves more than 1,000 households and is the financial advisor of record on over 25 retirement plans, including the City of Toledo’s 401(k) plan.
Michael began his career at Wilcox Financial before joining Premier Planning Group in 2020. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business. Born and raised in Toledo, he is a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and remains deeply committed to serving the community that shaped him.
Outside of his professional work, Michael serves as a board member of the Toledo Police Foundation, as well as the Vice President and Head Coach of Northwest Ohio Wrestling Club (Foxfire Wrestling Club), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. He has helped lead fundraising efforts that provide free membership opportunities for young athletes and has coached state champions and national-level competitors. He also serves as Head Coach for Team Ohio through the Ohio Athletic Committee and Assistant Varsity Coach of St. John’s Jesuit.
Michael and his wife, Emily, live in Sylvania, where they enjoy spending time with family, supporting youth athletics, and investing in their local community.
